Summary:
The Professional Footballers Association (PFA) host an annual awards ceremony, to recognise the personal achievement and successes of professional footballers across the different leagues in British football.
For 2023, the PFA celebrated 50 years of their annual awards. To mark this milestone, the event undertook a new format compared to previous years. Historically, the awards took place at The Grosvenor Hotel, London, with a formal meal followed by the awards. For 2023, the show became a piece of theatre design situated inside the Lyric Theatre, at The Lowry in Salford Quays, Manchester.

Concept:
The one big ask from the PFA was to have screen content as a large prime focal area to the stage design for the awards ceremony.
Keeping the screen as the focal point, the design developed around it, keeping the screen as the nucleus to the set. Fragmented video segments of content scattered from the screen outwards, giving every audience member a different perspective.
A large broken frame situated at the front of the stage, framed the visual explosion from behind. The PFA Awards are about celebration. Success. Achievement. For all of the professional footballers. By exploding the moving visual content from the show and making it form the stage design, created high energy, reflecting the sense of celebration.
